The first-ever Knockouts Champion and pioneer of the women’s division in TNA is being inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame. The announcement was made during an in-ring segment on Impact Wrestling by TNA’s president Dixie Carter and included a video package but they haven’t put it on YouTube yet so you can’t watch it below. Bummer.
Kim joined TNA in 2005 and helped launch the Knockouts Division two years later, becoming its first-ever champion and participating in a legendary feud with Awesome Kong that helped put the Knockouts on the map. Kim’s fifth reign as champion ended earlier this year at the hands of Jade, better known as Mia Yim on the independent circuit.
Whether you think TNA having a Hall of Fame is dumb or not aside, Gail Kim is definitely a worthy inductee. Although she had success in WWE, it’s inarguable that her career is more synomonous with the Nashville outfit and she’s done a lot for them over the years. Many congratulations are in order.
